On 11th and 12th May 2023, the SMART WASTE partners met for the last time in Sofia (BG), hosted by the partner BAMEE, for the high-level political dissemination event.
This was the occasion to present project results to a wide audience of over 70 participants (in person and online), including local politicians from partner regions and countries and other key institutions.
Resolvo was (of course!) there, taking part in all sessions and moderating the interactive panel entitled “The SMART WASTE way”. This was the perfect moment to celebrate almost 4 years of successful project work, with partners sharing their experience, Action Plans and SMART WASTE’s tangible outcomes in their territories.
During the panel, we discussed the various steps of the SMART WASTE journey: from the analysis of successes and failures of local policy instruments in supporting innovation in waste management, to Good Practices shared by partners, up to the policy improvements achieved in the various territories thanks to the project. Resolvo supported partners in the development of their Action Plans. Therefore, talking about outcomes and real benefits observed in the SMART WASTE territories was particularly interesting.
The plenary session was followed by 2 thematic working groups on technologies for waste collection and recycling and funding, designing, and monitoring innovative waste management measures. These involved project partners and external stakeholders, discussing future trends and possible opportunities for further advancing smart waste management across Europe.
This successful meeting was the perfect conclusion of a great project that showcase interregional cooperation at its best: 6 highly-committed partners, keen to learn from and advance thanks to each other.
