Resolvo at the GEXTRECS Demonstration Events and Stakeholder Workshop

Resolvo recently participated in the first demonstration events and stakeholder workshop of the GEXTRECS project.

GEXTRECS is a research project funded by EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Programme) that aims to develop an integrated GOVSATCOM (Governmental Satellite Communications) Crisis Management Service Pack designed to provide secure and reliable satellite communications in disaster and emergency situations.

When traditional communication systems are compromised, such as in the aftermath of earthquakes or floods, satellite technology offers a vital solution for maintaining connectivity and supporting rapid disaster response efforts.

The initial results of the GEXTRECS research have now been simulated and validated during the demonstration events based on two disaster scenarios: a land-based natural disaster and a maritime emergency.

Resolvo took part in the land-based demonstration and stakeholder workshop, held at the Training Base in Weeze, Germany, while the maritime demonstration took place on a vessel in Vigo, Spain. The workshop gathered stakeholders and end-users to assess the system’s initial performance, usability, and acceptance under realistic conditions.

The entire event (organised from 14th to 19th November 2024) marked a major milestone for the GEXTRECS project, showcasing significant progress in delivering innovative GOVSATCOM solutions for disaster response.”

The final GEXTRECS Crisis Management Service Pack will be simulated and validated for both scenarios at the end of next year during the second demonstration events and stakeholder workshop.
