The 2023 Major Cities of Europe conference took place in Prato, at the Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art (25-27 October 2023).
Under the motto “A loom with a view – Weaving the digital future of communities, cities and regions” the programme included speakers from cities, regions, research centres and companies specialised in Local Government innovation, outcomes and issues related to the developments of the transformation of cities and regions and to the governance of local communities.
The focus of the event was on the role of technologies that support the Green and Digital transformation, Safety, Security and Cybersecurity of local governments and communities,
on means to leverage emerging technologies, like Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twins to support, and on the critical role played by leadership and skills.
Resolvo supported Tuscany Region in the organisation of the session dedicated to the evolving role of regions, with a focus on digital skills, digital twins, cloud and cybersecurity.
Representatives from Flanders (Region and V-ICT-OR), Gran Lyon, Päijät-Häme, Marche, Socitm and Tuscany shared their views on these challenging topics. Even if different contexts and experiences were presented all agreed on three key points: get citizens closer, enhance cross-domain and multilevel cooperation on data, seek for political support.
