Interreg Europe projects CLAY and SMART WASTE in the spotlight
Spring comes with great results for Resolvo’s projects!
CLAY and SMART WASTE, two of our projects from the 3rd and 4th call of Interreg Europe Programme 2014 – 2020, are at the centre of interesting initiatives at national and European level.
CLAY is one of two model projects that will be presented at the national infoday for Italian beneficiaries of Interreg Europe 2021-2027. The event, organised by the Managing Authority of Interreg Europe and by the Italian National Contact Point, will be held on 24th March 2022.
CLAY has also been selected as a “Lighthouse Project” (Territorial Cooperation projects with particularly significant objectives and excellent results) within an initiative promoted by the Italian Agency for Territorial Cohesion, in collaboration with the Department for Cohesion Policies of the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers.
In parallel, on 24th March 2022, SMART WASTE will be one of the special guests at the Final Conference of the Interreg Central Europe project CITYCIRCLE. CITYCIRCLE provides peripheral cities of Central Europe with circular economy tools and knowledge, to boost the development of innovative solutions in their urban ecosystems on a long-term perspective. As such, it looks with interest at SMART WASTE work on the waste management sector. SMART WASTE Good Practices and work to boost innovation in waste management will be addressed in the second session of the event, entitled “Circularity in Practice”.
Resolvo has provided technical assistance to project coordinators Umbria Region (CLAY) and Tuscany Regional Agency for Resource Recovery – ARRR (SMART WASTE), accompanying the projects along their path to success: from the development of project ideas, to the construction of the international partnership, up to the daily management of administrative and technical activities. Resolvo also helped partners of these projects to develop 10 Regional Action Plans and to prepare one Pilot Action for Umbria Region.
CLAY (3rd call project) Action Plans were approved by the Interreg Europe Managing Authority in summer 2021 and are currently being implemented, along with the Pilot Action in Umbria. SMART WASTE (4th call project) Action Plans are currently being finalised and will be available soon on the website of the project. In the meantime, project partners have already achieved important policy improvements that are now being implemented and that will be monitored until July 2023 (throughout project Phase 2).
After all this hard work, today we are proud of the excellent results obtained by CLAY and SMART WASTE. The two projects are now entering their last year of activity and we can’t wait to find out what else they will achieve over the next few months.
In the meantime, this spring there’s no time to rest at Resolvo: the first call of Interreg Europe 2021-2027 will open in April and the one for Interreg Euro MED thematic projects in June, so more cooperation is coming! We are already working on new ideas, but we are more than happy to evaluate opportunities together with other potential partners and customers.
