On June 12th and 13th, GINEVRA project partners met in Vienna for the third project meeting, hosted in the beautiful lecture halls of the Technical University of Vienna.
The meeting was held for the mid-term follow up on the project progress, and gathered project partners and the project officer of the Vienna-based Joint Secretariat. The first 18 months of activities, finance, cooperation, and communication were assessed, and potential changes and corrections were discussed.
The meeting then focused on establishing guidelines for responsible, multi-level governance of transformative innovation. An Interactive training was conducted to analyse factors related to this topic, and the project partner cities presented their implementation plans. Bilateral sessions with the project knowledge providers followed, during which comments and feedback were gathered.
On the second day, the meeting focused on a capacity-building session for collecting and devising stakeholder and citizen engagement tools. Partners tested one of these tools through an idea-gathering activity: a walkshop through the streets of Vienna, during which they had the opportunity to exchange comments and suggestions.
The partners then engaged in constructive discussions on how to facilitate the process of identifying possible autonomous vehicle providers to prepare for the pilot. The pilots are scheduled to take place in the fall of 2025 in the cities of Bad Schönborn, Cesena, and Varaždin. The cooperation of all partners will be required.
The meeting concluded with a study visit to experience an autonomous vehicle with SURAAA in Pörtschach am Wörthersee, Klagenfurt.
This third meeting was a valuable opportunity for partners to exchange ideas and reflect on the positive progress made in the first half of the project as well as to set new goals and activities for the second half.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 2024 in Varaždin, Croatia, and partners are already making preparations!
