The 43rd General Assembly of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe was held at Firenze Fiera from 4 to 6 November.
The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe brings together 156 European regions from 28 states, both members and not of the European Union.
Organized in six geographical commissions, on the basis of sea basins of the European Union (Islands, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Baltic, North Sea, Balkans/Black Sea), the CPMR promotes cooperation projects between those regions aiming to promote regional development and territorial cohesion in Europe.
The Tuscan President Enrico Rossi opened the Assembly underlining how cohesion and collaboration in Europe produce development and progress.
During the three-day meeting various topics have been highlighted: sustainable blue growth, energy, the climate agreement, migration and others.
