On 21st October the EU Commission approved the new transnational cooperation programme Adriatic-Ionian ADRION. The programme has an overall budget of 118 million€.
The programme will contribute to the implementation of the European Union Strategy for Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR), composed of 4 Priority Axes:
– Innovative and Smart Region: Strengthening research, technological development and innovation
– Sustainable Region: Preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency
– Connected region: Promoting sustainable transport and removing bottlenecks in key network infrastructures
– Supporting the Governance of the EUSAIR: Enhancing institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders and efficient public administration.
The geographical Area covered by the ADRION Programme includes: Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy (13 Regions and 2 provinces), Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
The first call for proposals is expected for the beginning of 2016.
